I took advantage of this direct light on Union Station and other buildings

Preparing for this at the western edge of the park I position myself close to where I felt the sun would be over the city when creating this image

Not too long after I took this image

By being low to the ground the footprints leading towards the building became my central focus to place the viewer in the scene itself and lead them towards the decorated building

First Morning of 2012 in Denver Size:24"x36" I took advantage of thisThe start of a new year is usually marked by sleeping in late due to the celebration from the prior night heading into the early hours of January 1st. To start off 2012, I fought the urge to sleep in and woke up in time to capture the first sunrise over Denver. As I waited for the sun to rise it was obvious people were still heading home after a long night, however like myself they were treated to the clouds lighting this first morning of 2012.
