"The Club Royal" 1997-2004 In “Time in a Bottle”

In “Time in a Bottle” the first GTO I ever painted reflects the influence of Detroit’s Woodward Avenue

we toured Paris where I took hundreds of photographs for a Paris street cafe series

with a Panama Yellow 1958 Corvette parked in front of Key West’s original Margaritaville Cafe

That advertisement shows an ad for an early GT350 and offers a high contrast background for the red Shelby

"The Club Royal" 1997-2004 In “Time in a Bottle”The neon sign of Kansas Citys Club Royal, which closed in the 1980s, cast an intriguing shadow above the front door. The second floor windows, however, were most interesting with the juxtaposition of storage items and the collapsed Venetian blinds on the right. The entire front wall of the original building was disassembled, then reassembled during redevelopment, and still remains on Main Street although the signage is gone.
