It is the size of a stiletto, and I'm unsure if that's what it is but with a bent tip, or if it is a dainty crochet tambour or hook. It is as found, the trim and mount is 18k, no loss to the halo of tiny seed pearls which surround what is likely a garnet but I did not test the stone. Dates latest 1700s to perhaps 1830s at latest.
