Made from 30 year old Japanese camellia wood, a dense, fine grained timber with a natural oil content that makes it water resistant and unusually durable for a kitchen tool. Each handle follows the natural form of the wood, so no two look exactly alike. The stainless steel blade spreads butter cleanly straight from the fridge, and works just as well for soft cheeses, pt, or jam. At 225mm it's a comfortable length.
