I remember finding this exquisite pair of figural tapestry panels

Each panel is large at 17" tall and 13" wide (workable with additional distance beyond the folds you can see in the photos - that represents where the outer perimeter was folded back and then tacked to the wooden chair back)Linen warp with wool and perhaps some silk yarns used

but they were taught to do fine stitchery

Antique French Napoleon III Louis XVI Revival 8" Desk or Pen Tray, Ribbon & Laurel Garland magnifying tool I remember finding this exquisiteFine antique French, likely Baccarat, 8" desk or writer's pen tray with Empire or Louis XVI Revival style in thick cut glass and gilt bronze ribbon & laurel garland encasement! Likely originally part of a set, to include an inkwell, likely stationery stand, etc. but, as is common, we often find these as single separate pieces now. Only very rarely do we find a complete set. This one likely Baccarat glass or crystal but with no markings so impossible
