There is some chipping around the edges of the glass inset

absolutely original

Good to not so great condition

I find not a single nip or chip anywhere and no cracks or hairlines

but would not get all blotched in the face by the direct heat of those large open fireplaces in Victorian mansions

This set comes from the shops of the old Palais Royal, formerly the Richelieu Palace, which became a shopping and theater arcade in mid 1700s and host to Kings, Emperors, Elite of Europe and abroad. If you have been there, you know just the arcade I mean.
